Shop - Categories

With shop categories, you can create shop sub-pages for specific event products or product collections.

What is it?

Shop categories are shop sub-pages, where you can display certain products and related content.

What can I do with it?

You can create multiple shop pages, specific to certain products, events or themes.

What are the benefits of using it?

They can be used to direct specific users to targeted products most suited to them.

How to create a shop category

You can create a shop category by going to your Shop module:

 Shop > Advanced Options > Shop Categories

Select New Category

Category name and URL

You can then set the category name and corresponding URL.

The URL for the shop category is longer than the standard shop URL: {siteURL}/shop.

For the category landing page it will be {siteURL}/shop/category/{category-name}. The category name can be changed to one of your choosing.

Adding content and products.

Once the category has been created you can then edit the page content and add products to display on the page.

By going to the Content/Products tab, you can edit the content that will display on your page. The landing page is similar to any other platform content page and can be edited the same way by adding columns/sections. You can add images and copy, and a shop Content block to select the products you want to appear.

Once you’ve added a Shop content block, you can choose what to display by editing the block.

Preview changes and Publish

Once you have made changes to the content, added products to the shop category catalogue and saved, you can preview the page to see how the changes will look. 

You can preview your page by going to the preview page on the top of the page. Once happy, hit Publish.
