Facebook Issue Resolution | January 2025

Meta has recently provided us with notifications that some apps and connections to the Funraisin platform either have been or are set to be turned off due to detected violations of Facebook’s terms.

So far there have been 2 primary reasons for these disconnections:

Reason 1 - Privacy Policy: Sites that do not include the required information in their privacy policies to explain how data deletion can be requested.

Reason 2 - Functionality Verification: Meta wants more specific information on how Facebook Login and Facebook App connections are being used


What Funraisin have been doing to address Facebook Login and App verifications:

  1. For the sites where Meta requires information of how Facebook Login and App connections are used, we have been required to submit video evidence of how these tools are used on each distinct platform.
    1. This included sending Meta a video showing how users are able to create a Facebook fundraiser, as well as how the one-click login functionality is used to create both a Facebook fundraiser and Funraisin fundraising page at the same time.
  2. Meta then came back with additional requirements to be included in each video recording, which included the addition of visibility of each site’s Facebook App ID.
  3. This was then followed up with further requirements for each recording including more extensive views of all sign-up processes, which has required further back and forth to ensure all the requirements for submission have been met.
  4. Access to the relevant areas required to process this video evidence requirement from Facebook is currently limited to a small group of admins. This access is being expanded to help expedite the processing of re-approval applications.
  5. As of January 17 2025, the video recording requirements have finally reached a stage of approvals by Meta, so the submission of outstanding recordings for affected platforms will proceed accordingly, as efficiently as we are able to do so.

What you can do to address Privacy Policy inclusions:

  1. Ensure your privacy policy is up to date and is correctly linked in the footer of your website
    1. If this is something you need assistance with updating, please proceed with submitting a support request via your Funraisin platform admin. 
  2. Ensure that your privacy policy has a section directly referencing data deletion
