Cookies
Cookies are small pieces of data stored on users' devices by websites visited. These files contain information about users' interactions with the site, preferences, and other data, allowing websites to deliver a customized and seamless browsing experience. Cookies serve various purposes, ranging from session management to user tracking.
There are different types of cookies which include:
- Session cookies allow a user to maintain their session on the website such as remembering items in a shopping cart or the login.
- Persistent cookies are used to remember the user's preferences and settings across website visits.
- First-party cookies are issued by the website being visited and third-party cookies are created by domains other than the one the user is visiting.
The Funraisin platform makes use of cookies to help recognise users allowing for secure logins and also to remember user preferences such as language and layout settings.
As cookies are also used for analytics to track user behaviour to gather insights which can help charities improve their website, the funraisin platform offers a means for charities to add tracking code from their cookie provider or a charity can add cookies to Google Tag Manager which they then embed on the platform. Funraisin cannot set up and categorise cookies for you, as it is not our data. Cookie providers usually have instructions on how to add these cookies.
