Events: Stretch Goals
Reaching a fundraising target is an exciting milestone, but it doesn't have to mean the end of a participant's fundraising journey. Stretch Goals give fundraisers the opportunity to aim higher, maintain momentum, and encourage continued support without changing their original fundraising target.
This article explains how to enable Stretch Goals for online events and how participants can set and manage them from their fundraising dashboard.
What is a Stretch Goal?
A Stretch Goal allows individual fundraisers in an online event to set a higher fundraising target in addition to their original goal, helping them maintain momentum and encourage continued donations.
If stretch goals are enabled for an event, participants can set a stretch goal at any time from the Edit My Page tab on their fundraising dashboard. The stretch goal amount must be higher than their original fundraising target or their current amount raised, whichever is greater.
Once a participant reaches their original fundraising target, their fundraising page automatically updates to display progress towards the stretch goal. The original target remains visible as a milestone marker on the fundraising progress bar.
For example, if a participant's original fundraising target is $100 and their stretch goal is $200, the progress bar will update to show the $200 goal once they've raised $100.
